Skin lesion assessment and treatment in Brighton & Hove

A new or changing mark on your skin can raise questions, while a longstanding benign lesion may simply be something you’d like assessed or treated.

At EIRA Clinics in Hove, we offer Map My Mole assessments and CryoPen treatment for selected benign skin lesions. These are different services: assessment helps determine the appropriate next step, while CryoPen is a treatment offered only when a lesion is suitable.

Map My Mole assessment

Map My Mole provides a specialist assessment pathway for skin lesions. We’ll discuss the mark you’re concerned about, take the required images and explain how the assessment process works, including how you’ll receive the outcome and any recommended next steps.

If a lesion is suspicious or needs further investigation, we’ll advise you on appropriate medical follow-up. Map My Mole does not replace an in-person medical examination where one is needed.

CryoPen treatment for selected benign lesions

CryoPen uses a controlled application of cold to treat certain benign skin lesions. It may be suitable for some skin tags and other lesions, depending on their type, location and your medical history.

We do not use CryoPen to treat an undiagnosed or suspicious lesion. We’ll assess the area first and explain whether treatment is appropriate or whether you should seek further medical assessment.

What to expect from your appointment

We’ll begin by discussing your concern, relevant medical history and any changes you’ve noticed. If CryoPen treatment is suitable, we’ll explain the procedure, potential risks and expected healing before you decide whether to proceed.

After treatment, the area may become red or swollen and may form a blister or scab as it heals. Changes in skin pigmentation, scarring and the need for further treatment are possible. We’ll provide aftercare instructions and explain when to contact us.

If a mark is new, changing, bleeding without an obvious cause or not healing, please seek prompt assessment from your GP or an appropriate skin specialist rather than booking directly for removal.
